Business learning courses built around real operating routines

This page explains how FLO Learning Canada structures courses: workshop intensives, facilitated cohorts, and modular learning sequences. The point is practical transfer—turning ideas like service standards, escalation pathways, and SOP drafting into habits teams can repeat. If you are planning training across provinces or time zones, we help you choose a format that fits scheduling and attention span.

Course formats

A course format is more than the calendar. It determines the amount of guided practice, the pace of spaced repetition, and how much time learners have to draft and revise artifacts such as SOP steps, customer message templates, and meeting agendas. Below are three formats we use most often for Canadian organizations and learners.

Workshop intensive

A focused session for a single theme—often customer service standards, business communication essentials, or workplace organization skills. Workshops work well when you need a shared baseline and a small set of “minimums” everyone can follow the next day.

  • Best for: teams that need fast alignment
  • Includes: scenario practice + a one-page artifact
  • Typical duration: 90 minutes to 1 day

Facilitated cohort

A multi-session sequence designed for practice and revision. Cohorts are where spaced repetition matters: a routine is drafted, tested against a new case, then tightened. This is a strong format for entrepreneurship foundations and operational efficiency principles.

  • Best for: implementation over time
  • Includes: office hours and peer debrief
  • Typical duration: 3–8 weeks

Modular learning sequence

A set of short modules combined into a pathway. Modules are useful when schedules are uneven (shift work, seasonal peaks) and you want consistent content without forcing a long weekly meeting. Each module has a single output and a short reflection prompt.

  • Best for: distributed teams and mixed availability
  • Includes: templates + lightweight check-ins
  • Typical duration: 2–6 modules

How we choose the right format

Selecting a format is mostly about constraints: time zones, attention span, the number of handoffs in your operation, and how often people need to use the new routine. We avoid one-size-fits-all recommendations. Instead, we map your learning goals to operating moments—intake, triage, escalation, follow-up, scheduling, and internal communication. Then we pick the simplest structure that still supports practice and feedback.

A practical selection checklist

Before recommending a pathway, we ask a few grounded questions. The answers shape the pacing and the amount of guided practice.

  • How often does the routine occur? Daily service interactions usually need short, repeatable scripts and a clear escalation pathway.
  • How many roles touch the process? More handoffs means you benefit from a shared SOP and “handoff minimums.”
  • Is the goal knowledge or behaviour? Behaviour change usually needs practice, not just a slide deck.
  • Do you need certificates of participation? If yes, we define completion criteria and attendance tracking upfront.

What learners typically produce

We design courses so participants leave with small artifacts that can live in a shared drive or onboarding binder. These are intentionally plain and easy to revise.

Communication
Customer update message templates

A consistent structure for context, next step, timeframe, and handoff notes.

Operations
One-page SOP outline

A simple “who does what” flow with triage criteria and escalation triggers.

Planning
One-page operating plan draft

Assumptions, constraints, milestones, and a short stakeholder summary.

Specialists participate as invited experts; materials remain educational and are not personal advice.
