Cookie Policy

Last Updated: March 17, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how FLO Learning Canada (“we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our website. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly. This policy is written for learners, program coordinators, and organizational contacts across Canada who want a clear description of what cookies do, what they are used for, and how to manage preferences.

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Some cookies are essential for basic site functionality, while others help us understand how the site is used or help measure the effectiveness of advertising. In addition to cookies, we may use “pixel tags” (small pieces of code that transmit limited information about page activity), and in some configurations certain events may be sent server-to-server for measurement. We do not use cookies to provide financial products, investment services, trading services, or cryptocurrency content.

1) Cookie lifespans and sources

Cookies can be session cookies (they expire when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (they remain for a set period unless you delete them). Cookies can also be first-party (set by our site) or third-party (set by a service provider whose tools are used on the site).

2) Cookie categories we use

We group cookies into three categories. These categories match the options shown in our cookie banner and the cookie preferences panel.

A) Essential cookies (always on)

Essential cookies are required for the website to function and to remember your cookie choices. These cookies do not require consent under many privacy frameworks because they are necessary to provide the website and keep it stable. Disabling them may cause the site to behave unexpectedly.

B) Analytics cookies (consent required)

Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors use the site. For example, we may review which pages are visited most often, whether visitors reach program pages from resources, or which content is most helpful when selecting a training format. When enabled, we typically use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) configured to reduce unnecessary data collection, such as using IP anonymization where supported.

C) Marketing cookies (consent required)

Marketing cookies help measure advertising effectiveness and support relevant messaging. When enabled, these cookies can be used to understand whether someone who clicked an ad later visited program pages or submitted the contact form. Marketing cookies may also be used for remarketing (showing follow-up ads) and for audience creation (such as lookalike audiences), depending on the tools configured and the consent you provide.

3) Cookie table

The table below lists the cookies associated with each category. Some cookies appear only if you enable analytics or marketing cookies. If we add or remove cookies as our website evolves, we will update this list.

Name Purpose Category Type Retention
_site_session Site session continuity Essential First-party Session
cookie_consent Stores your consent choice Essential First-party 12 months
_ga GA4 user identifier Analytics Third-party 2 years
_ga_XXXXXXXXXX GA4 session state (10-char GA4 ID) Analytics Third-party 2 years
_gcl_au Google Ads conversion linker Marketing Third-party 90 days
_fbp Meta Pixel browser identifier Marketing Third-party 90 days
_fbc Meta Pixel click identifier Marketing Third-party 90 days

4) Third-party providers

Depending on your preferences, we may use the following providers for analytics, advertising measurement, and site security. We do not permit these providers to use site data for their own independent commercial purposes. Their processing is governed by their own policies and our configuration choices.

5) Managing your cookie preferences

You can manage cookie choices at any time by using the “Manage cookie preferences” link in the footer. That link re-opens the cookie banner and allows you to review or change your selection. If you choose to reject non-essential cookies, analytics and marketing cookies will remain disabled unless you later opt in.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to delete cookies, block third-party cookies, or block cookies entirely for specific sites. If you block all cookies, the site may not remember your cookie preferences and some essential functionality may be affected.

6) Updates to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in technology, legal requirements, or how the site is configured. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we may also provide a notice on the site.

7) Contact
